About the Project

The MyPrimion App is a mobile-first Employee Self-Service (ESS) application developed by Primion Technology GmbH. It enables employees, HR admins, and supervisors to manage their time tracking, attendance, absences, and work schedules efficiently—whether they’re at their desk or on the go.Targeted at both private enterprises and government clients across Europe, the app integrates seamlessly with legacy backend systems such as prime WebTime, prime Time, and Evalos, and complies with strict accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1. It supports multi-language interfaces, offline functionality.

Problem

How can I design a solution which would work well for a variety of different contexts and alllow user to quickly booking time without much friction? The initial MyPrimion App faced a number of critical usability challenges. Users reported confusion navigating key workflows such as time booking and request management. Government clients flagged non-compliance with accessibility standards, and language limitations hampered adoption across Primion's international markets

Our Solutions

Instead of jumping into big, complex solutions, we kept our focus on what mattered: solving real problems for real users.We started small. We tested early and often so we didn’t waste time building things users didn’t want or need. One of the most helpful tools? Unmoderated UX studies. They were quick, low-effort, and gave us valuable insights without slowing us down.This mindset helped us create a dashboard that’s clean, simple, and easy to use. A Book Now panel that uses color and icons so users instantly know what’s what. it’s fully accessible—keyboard-friendly, screen-reader-ready, and compliant with WCAG 2.1

We needed a scalable system that could help designers, developers, and writers stay aligned. Our goal was to create a single source of truth—a design foundation that could grow with the product

The Result

By implementing a user-centered redesign and scalable design system for the Primion platform, we significantly improved both performance and user satisfaction across the board. The results speak for themselves:

  • 45% faster task completion across core flows such as booking, requesting leave, and viewing shifts.
  • 30% increase in user satisfaction, based on continuous internal feedback loops, along with a 50% boost in app downloads.
  • Achieved a 91% accessibility score (up from 68%), making the platform fully compliant with WCAG 2.1 and BITV standards.
  • Introduced a unified design system to ensure consistency and enable seamless scalability across other Primion platforms.
  • Delivered a fully responsive design that adapts fluidly to all screen sizes and use cases.
  • Secured App Store PWA certification, laying the groundwork for expanded support across multiple devices and ecosystems.
